I had surgery for my Chiari I when I was 19. I was diagnosed about a year prior. Surgery was not recommended to me until I started showing several serious symptoms. It's been over 7 years and I haven't had symptoms return. My only problem has been with my neck. It gets sore easily, like if I'm at a computer for a long time, or if I sleep funny. Over all I'm happy I had the surgery.
