ATI Catalyst control center problems?

I have had my HP Pavilion dv5 for almost a year. It has windows vista home premium and an ati radeon hd 3200 card. When I start up my computer, I get window that says my catalyst control center has stopped working. When I try to open it from the start menu, the same thing happens immediately. I tried to uninstall the drivers and ccc and re install them but the same thing happend. If anyone knows what to do, please let me know.

I have had all kinds of problems with ATI software and ended up calling ATI support. They were pretty good (I spent several hours on the phone with them and ended up reverting to an older version of the driver(s).) Part of the problem is, that all software components are interconnected. In my case there are six components which had to be un-installed (they had a separate page with instructions and tools for that) and then re-installed in a specific order.

Now that ATI is part of AMD, of course none of my original links work anymore since the support pages have moved over to AMD's website. I have not needed to contact AMD so I can't comment on the quality of the service they provide but you can start here:
