READ BEFORE ANSWERING

The pet bird would have hours out everyday to play and stuff. Most of my free time (not at school) I am in my room that is big my bird would always be out when im in my room which is a long time hours and hours everyday. I have done research I know birds are a big responsibility.

MORE QUESTIONS

What will I need to buy (all the little things) like bird seed, pallets (what one?) toys, other things mabey cleaning stuff or something?

If it would be a good idea for me not to get an indian ringneck what is antoher bird that would be good for me? Lorikeets cost to much for me I know I have to spend alot but the price all depends on the type of bird. in my local petshop, I went into it yesterday and they have a lorikeet that is in the middle of the shop and has an open cage and plays on its gym. The cage was a very small cage one I would say was fit for 1 or 2 budgies but lorikeets arnt that big are they? a small cage is fine for those and cockateils isnt it?

I may add more questions so mabey you should check back! 10 points for whoever gives a good in depth answer and mabey some addition facts or information that will be useful to me.

Also I live in New Zealand and dont use Ebay but if you know a cheap website that will ship to NZ or internatilaliy that would be good.

AND If anyone can give a link to a good active not to big forum or a IRC chat (online chat) that would be perfect thanks.

Update:

Also if eventul I also got a cockateil or a budgie, and I had it in a seperate cage then the IRN, Would i be able to have them both be good pets to me or would they start to like each other even if they were in different cages possibly accross the room.

ok well of course the bigger the cage the better - what about those days when you dont have time to play with your feathered friend? even with the best intentions there is bound to be some. if you want a particular type of bird you would be as well saving up for it than buying a cheaper make do. your petshop will tell you what stuff you will need but basics would be food and water dishes, food, chews, toys, sandpaper and bird safe disinfectant for cleaning out cage. two birds in seperate cages would probably call to each other but if you give them the lovin then they will love you. chat wise you can find people on myspace from all over the world. good luck to you but do please consider getting a bigger cage. what a bird can survive in is very different to what a bird can live happily in though if they are getting out daily that will help. ps buy wet wipes as birds poop freely! hope this helps a bit.
