Does a stitched wound heal faster covered by a bandage or when exposed to air?

everything heals better when it's exposed to air.
we only cover things when there's a risk of infection--so if it's scabbed over, it's cool to open it up. If you leave it covered too long, there's a risk of infection.

Any wound, whether stitched or not, heals better and faster when it is covered with a sterile bandage. Contrary to popular belief, leaving it exposed to the air does not help. Rather, it increases the likelihood of bacteria coming into contact with the wound, which would only prolong healing.

A stitched wound generally requires no more than two days of bandaging. Keeping it clean and dry is what is important.
A wound, such as a bite, is often times not stitched and left open to heal by what is called secondary intention. This type of wound generally requires longer covering.

A wound is healing faster than when exposed to air but still you have to be careful not to let water runs through the wound and most of all the area must be clean at all times.

It's better with a bandage, leaving it exposed to air will do it absolutely no good, only makes it prone to infection.
Even a band-aid that's specially made to help heal wounds faster.

It is better to cover the wound because after covering the wound the infection rate was decreased and in the case of dog biting we does not cover the wound

i dont think it matters.. the reason you have a bandage on is that it reduces the risk of infections, ergo yes i think it would be better if not exposed to air ;)

both. You need to keep it covered when you are most exposed to contaminates, bacteria, and t keep it from drying out (more scar tissue). But keeping it air out will help with some infections as well.

Definately exposed 2 air, it heals much much quicker, a plaster doesn't do anything seriously,x

I'm no doctor, but I think dunking the wound in a huge vat of penicillin would be best.
