Poodles are long haired dogs, most people keep them clipped. There are no guarantees, labradoodles are mutts.

Poodles do have long hair and when mixed with the lab coat, it just changes the texture and straightens out the curliness of the poodle hair. As with all mixes, not all the fur or hair on a lab/poodle mix will be the same.

There is no such thing as a short-haired Poodle. All Standard Poodles grow about 1/2" of hair a month.

Curly long fur plus short straight fur equals long fur. Poodles DO have long fur its just curled. Straight is more dominant leading to long shedding coats.

  • lol! If you had a SP - Standart Poodle - like Ellie you would take your words back! The thing is that poodles have long hair but it's curly so it doesn't look as long as if it was straight.

Poodles hair grows continuously, they need to be trimmed about every 6 weeks or so, as they dont shed hair.
