question about the show "Heroes".?

why is it, in the first season, do they keep saying "blah blah save the world"? or "save the cheerleader, save the world"? i understand a bomb might blow up in NYC, but that is hardly destroying the world. thats always bothered me. any smartass comments or insight?

In the future the world was destroyed because sylar was invincible. In this future he got the invincible regenative power byy taking it from the cheerleader thus killing her.

SO the good guys like Peter Petrelli had to save the cheerleader (Claire) from Sylar so that hes doesnt get her power.

This means that sylar could be killed and defeated thus preventing the end of the world.

    Until the next season.

The exploxion would destroy NYC but the wolrd sounds so much more EPIC (like I used capitals on the word epic to make it more EPIC)

    Hope this helps.

This show has completely peaked, it had one good season and completely played the save the world bit 30 times over and alternate realities over and over. After a while the characters become unlikeable.

For a truly creative show that is gameplanned and not winged episode to episode with great acting, great musiic emotion and perhaps the greatest mystery story ever told go out and watch Lost from the beginning. You can watch on ABC.COM up until season 5.

Trust me when I say you get emotionally invested into the characters and they are not joked out like Heroes.

The nuclear destruction of NY would probably set off a chain of events that would ultimately lead to the end of the world... Besides, "Save the cheerleader, save NYC", just doesn't sound as good.

Well if the cheerleader died ,or in future we see just sylar having her power and her being alive because of her power, sylar would be able to kill everybody.
