How do you close you Y/A account?

I'm not sure if you can cancel an account on yahoo, but if its a matter of needing to get off for awhile have a friend change your password and recovery question for you.

To remove your entire account, please visit Yahoo!’s Account Deletion page. You'll be asked to sign in to verify your password for the account you wish to delete. Please be sure to read the next page carefully, as important information about your account is included. You can then confirm the deletion of your account. When the deletion process is initiated, your Yahoo! account can never be recovered.

Important Note: Terminating your account means you'll lose access to the Yahoo! ID, Yahoo! Mail, and profile names associated with it. We'll also delete the account data and settings across the Yahoo! network. This includes any contents in:

→ Yahoo! Mail

→ Yahoo! Address Book

→ Yahoo! HotJobs

→ GeoCities

→ My Yahoo!

→ Yahoo! Groups

→ Finance Portfolio

→ Any other area of Yahoo! that can only be accessed with your Yahoo! ID and password

Be sure you want to delete your entire account, because you won't be able to reactivate it after the account has been deleted. You're always welcome to sign up again for a new account.

Terminating your Yahoo! account won't alter or delete your Yahoo! People Search listing, which you need to edit or delete yourself.

If you are subscribed to any premium services, we recommend that you cancel them first—before you delete your account. There is no guarantee that deleting your Yahoo! account will immediately cancel the billing for any premium services you're subscribed to. To cancel your current subscriptions, visit Yahoo! Billing Information for your account, choose the "My Services" tab and click the "Cancel" link for each subscription.
