Greinke, CY Young winner?

The guy is leading the league in ERA, with a 2.14, 2nd in K's, and 14 wins, 3 behind CC, on a pitiful team. He could finish with 18-19 wins, with 8 losses, but forget losses. he has been dominant more so then not. The award is supposed to be given to the top dog, not who pitches better for a more successful team. Especially if he wins out, with the remaining games, no doubt this guy has to be a leading candidate, and perhaps one of the contending teams, or then contending team, Texas, should have tried to grab him. Thoughts? If not thinking he should be leading candidate, then who do you think and why??

Yes, but the fact that the Royals are horrible is gonna hurt his chances. He hasn't pitched and many important games and the national media hasn't seen him a lot.

His ERA is out of this world!

If he gets under 2.00 he will be a lock!!!

Greinke deserves to win the Cy Young. It's not even a contest, yet people keep insisting that Sabathia should win it (mostly Yankee fans). The only reason these people are sugesting Sabathia is because he plays for big market New York and his team has the best record in baseball. If Greinke doesn't win the Cy Young, and Joe Mauer doesn't win the AL MVP, then it's just another example of small market teams not getting enough national attention. While I like seeing my Red Sox on ESPN all the time, it would be nice for everyone to get to see Zack Greinke pitch because he really is something special.

I have nothing against the guy but I don't think he will get it.

He was spectacular early on during the first half of the year but he had a so-so June and did not win a single game in July.

I think the Royals offense really may have cost him the Cy Young this year.

Don't be surprised to see Sabathia or Verlander win it. They both have solid numbers and they play for 1st place teams.

Greinke all the way. The Rangers would have a really good rotation with him. Zack Greinke is in the top 5 in pretty much every pitching catogory besides wins. But that's because Zack Grienke is in the top 5 pitchers in baseball with the least run support.

I don;t think Zach Greinke should be the leading candidate. Instead, it should be Felix Hernandez of the Seattle Mariners, who has already reached 16 wins and, like Greinke, an ERA below 2.50 (his is 2.45).

Like the Royals, the Mariners will not make the playoffs.

Yes, Greinke's been the best pitcher in the league. Even some of the talking heads are picking him now, I think there's a good chance he will get it. He's been lights out again this month, and even got some run support today.

I couldn't have said it any better than Carla. He is hands down the most dominant pitcher in the AL this year. If he doesn't win it, I will be very disappointed, and I'm not even a Royals fan. His W-L record is meaningless because the Royals have one of the worst bullpens in baseball, so he ends up getting a no-decision in many games that he should have won.

He wins it, he is definitely the Cy Young winner, there are a couple people who would have to be to have a super insane finish, like no-hit for every game (not going to happen) just for them to win. Greinke should win unanimously.

Like everyone else, i would like Greinke....this guy lets up like 1 or 2 runs a game, his team just cant provide run support.. There was only one game he really lost and that was when he gave up 5 runs to the orioles... but other than that one game, he should have won the rest....he is just on a horrible team.

So far he has been the best pitcher not just in the AL but in all of MLB this season.

He may not win the Cy Young(vote) but that does not take away the fact he's been the best pitcher.
