What is the best hotel to stay at in Boracay?
Shangri La Hotel and Resort is a rip off. It is WAY too expensive for my budget and I wouldn't pay to stay there if I were rich. What are some other really nice places that are priced more realistically?

True, Shangri-la Hotel and all the other upscale resorts are a rip-off.
Are you looking for something mid price range?
I like staying in White House Resort, Red Coconut, True Home, Sur, Pearl of the Pacific, Chalet Y, Ambassador, among others.
You really don't need to stay in an upscale resort (unless you're high maintenance). As for the food, it's better to eat out anyway. I suggest staying in Station 1 (better sand quality, less congested, peace and quiet). Unless you prefer to party, in which case you can stay in Station 2 where the bars are (more dirty, noisy).
Let me know if you have questions.

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely show you great hotels at the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.
