ford mustang 302 rebuilding engine?
I bought a used 302 motor for my mustang and figured why not fresh up the engine with new bearings, rings and ect. The crankshaft looks great but I left it sitting and its got surface rust on it. What can I use to clean some of the rust. There's hardly any rust but just want to clean it off.

Get some Naval Jelly. It is a pink colored gel. You can buy it at most parts stores or hardware stores. If you use any kind of sandpaper, emery cloth, or anything similar you will ruin the journals. Orange glow hand cleaner works well also.

Emory Cloth. It is a super fine type of sand paper. Sold in thin strips to get into tight places (like the journals).
