    If I'm correct there is no effect on Rage Against the Machine's "Killing in the Name of."

    He's using a Wah pedal. The pedal is on for most of the solo but by depressing it he raises the notes an octave.

    A couple of people said wah pedal. Can't do that with a standard wah.

    Probably a Digitech Whammy like Dimebag Darrell used a lot.

    He's using a pedal to create the effect, but I don't know what the effect is called necessarily. The pitch is just him playing the notes, the effect adds the squealing element.

    He uses a wah pedal and shifts the note two octaves up.
