    It's called the Commutative Property of Multiplication. Basically all it says is if you switch the order of the numbers being multiplied, it won't change the answer.

    For instance: 12 X 4 = 48 AND 4 X 12 = 48

    It doesn't matter which order the 12 and the 4 are in; when multiplied together, they'll always equal 48.

    I'll bet you learned about the associative property and the distributive property too (they're usually taught together).
