First of all, just treating the dog with frontline/advantage/k9 advantix is not going to help the situation. You also need to treat your house, vacuum, spray the yard, and keep doing this on a weekly to biweekly basis to ensure that no more pupae hatch. Pupae can go for quite a while without hatching, just waiting for the right moment. Most flea products won't kill the pupae, and unless you have a very powerful vacuum, it won't take up the pupae from the carpet. Kill the fleas, eggs, and larvae. Wait for the pupae to hatch, and right before the new fleas can breed again, kill them. It can be difficult to get rid of fleas because of this lifecycle.
