Thanks guys! I love option 1 as well but am being advised against it since satin knots slip easily (hard to tie) and I'll have to pack them in a suitcase to take on a plane (too much room/weight).
Ariel -my thoughts exactly!!! The organza is more afternoon/shower-ish...not evening wedding reception-like!
Not that it matters but we're not actually getting married before the reception. We're getting married in Jamaica in Feb and his family is throwing us this pre-wedding reception. But it's exactly like a normal reception - just without the ceremony before.
I can't get them when we land because I haven't found a place that sells them as cheaply in Canada (where the reception is). I can get them for $0.95 each online but they won't ship to Canada.

When we ordered samples for my daughter's wedding we ordered one of each. When they arrived my daughter just couldn't decide. I was messing with them when I had the brain storm to use both together. It really looks neat with sheer on outside of the satin one. Plus the organza helps the satin to not slip and come untied. We ordered ours from same company, so they were same size but if you order from different companies I'd watch width & length. Tying bow so organza is out takes some twisting too.
If you decide to go with satin only I would recommend putting a stitch or two in heart of bow to keep them from coming untied. Will take a little time but well worth it in the end. I'd use heavy thread or even dental floss and don't use a wimpy needle!!! If you were having reception near home you could do this in advance but with traveling, that would be a little hard to pack!!!

Option 1

I prefer option 1--for the same reasons you stated. I think they're lovely and striking.
However, I'd wonder whether there was something else you could use. It really wouldn't do you any good to go to all the trouble and expense if they were a wreck or untied when you get to the reception location.

I would choose option 1 because it stands out more and the other looks like for a baby shower or party.

I love the look of the first one much more than the second one. It looks much more elegant for a wedding and gives a nicer look to the chair, the darker colour works very nicely!!!!
Best of Luck!

I like one and why can't you buy the bows when you land? But I would not get something I do not like over a little more weight! lol
good luck
