as part of the terms & conditions you agreed to when entering school (or more so your parents) the school has permission to search lockers (which technically they own) and cars on school property (again they own the property)...schools are not law enforcement they don't need a warrant since their not taking you to court

The lockers belong to the school, so I actually agree that they can do whatever they want with them. Unless there is some agreement where they state they will not search them for whatever reason. The cars, no. They do not own the cars, so a warrant is needed. School administrators are not above the law and students have a right to privacy. They can, however, have the student remove the car from school property.

Probably not. School lockers are property of the school itself, and therefore they have permission to do what they want with them since they own them.

Not so sure about the vehicle searching however. Since the cars are parked on their property they probably should, but then again, it's not their car to be searching.

Yes. The law gives permission to administrators to search lockers, cars, book bags, etc. without a parent being notified first. The law is called 'in loco parentis' which means 'without parent'.

From the moment you get on or off the school bus or get out of your car and walk on school property, the school administrator is responsible for your safety and well being. So if an administrator is notified that someone has a weapon, drugs, or anything that could hurt themselves and others, that administrator is responsible to inspect every inch of what belongs to that student. (Strip searches are not allowed and if an administrator asks you to remove your clothes absolutely refuse and get a lawyer.)

Be careful of what you bring to school and always report suspicious activity to your administrator. You could save a lot of people a lot of pain.
