My car makes a squealing sound at start up and while driving - under the hood - what is it - '06 Taurus?

It is only when the weather is muggy or wet...

A loose belt. That car is awful new to be having that kind of problem, but, have it replaced. They squeal more when they're cold and shrink when they get hot so the squealing may let up a little. Wet makes a loose belt slip and squeal.

It can only be a loose belt. Check your belt and re tighten it. Hope this helps!

Isn't google amazing. 5 seconds, and you get an answer.

Or, try searching Yahoo, since this gets asked several times a day.
