Macon has more cherry blossoms than any other city in the world, including Washington, D.C. and cities in Japan. It was proclaimed the Cherry Blossom Capital of the World by the Japanese Consul General.

The exciting, interactive Georgia Sports Hall of Fame is the largest state sports hall of fame in the United States, at 43,000 square feet. Georgia natives Ty Cobb, Jackie Robinson, Hank Aaron, Evander Holyfield, Bill Elliott, Nancy Lopez and Bobby Jones are among the athletes represented here.

Macon’s Luther Williams Field is the third oldest municipal baseball park in the nation. Pete Rose once played professional baseball for the Macon Peaches at the historic field.

It was the sight of one of the main training facilities for the Union forces during the Civil War. It was actually supposed to be invaded by the South, but a Union messenger found Lee's plan's scribbled on a cigar wrapper. Union forces headed off the South's attack in what is known as the battle at Antiem (sp?) Creek.

John Quicy Adams frequently visit it over the summer. The place now has a school name after him on the exact spot

The football team with the most Championships ever won is in my home town. They are also the only professional team owned by their fans.
