How do you do fouettes?

I take ballet, and I'm a bit advanced. My current hurdle are fouettes. How do you do them? Like, can I get step by step? Even if its not step by step, im okay, I just need an answer! And could you add preparation?

    From fourth position:

Plie with your supporting leg and lift your working leg to the front,

While pushing up and off with your supporting leg, whip your working leg out to a la seconde, then into a retire. Use your arms and head to help you round.

When you reach the front again, come back down on to the flat and open your working leg out to the front again - and repeat.

A common mistake is to whip the foot behind rather than bringing it into retire, then you just get out of control.
