You are being a bit to pushy on this boy, he is right if he didn't like you he wouldn't spend time with you, give it time relationships take time to built and by being pushy you are risking to loose him.Don't ask anymore ,there was an old say "If they are roses they will bloom" so have patience.

Say to him something like "What would you say if I asked you out?" coz i felt the same way about one of my best mates and then he asked me out so maybe it would work! Hope this helps!
