Splitting the DSL line, what do I need to buy?

I need to get a router, right? then I will need an ethernet cable to run from modem to router? I want to hard wire vs wireless (hard wire is faster than wireless?) Then a longer ethernet cable to run to my other pc. So I will need?: 1. short ethernet cable (modem to router)

2. router 3. long ethernet cable (router to new pc. I think I got this right just hoping to find a good confirmation.

Yes those three things will do it for you. You will need an ethernet cable for each computer hooked into the router, so 2 cables if 2 computers are hooked up to the router.
