How many baby girls were born in January 1970 in Toronto East General Hospital?
My mother just wants to know, google returned nothing.
This has to do with our family. No other information will be provided.
Thanks in advance. Best answer gets 10 points or however answers works.

Unless this was a newsworthy event (say, an enormous number of baby girls were born at the hospital that month), it's doubtful you'll find anything on the web about it. You might possibly get an answer by calling the hospital, but I doubt they'd have those statistics readily available. My guess is that it will require a trip to the hospital, and probably a couple boxes of chocolate for the records clerk, in order to obtain that type of information.

I don't know that any hospital keeps that kind of data, or has reason to. Or, if they did, it would be strictly for administrative reasons within the hospital (meaning, not reported to the govt or any agency). They MIGHT keep a document that 500 babies were born at the hospital in a years time, but without breaking it into month or sex.
Since it "has to do with your family", I'd assume that it refers to a particular birth.. that would then fall into individual information and privacy limitations.
I can think of two possible ways to ask.. call the hospital and ask if they maintain historical statistics, and if so, WHO would have them. The other possible source would be the health dept or equivalent for that location (city or province), and see if they know if such data is/was kept. It might not be the exact stuff you want.
It is a long long shot that anyone is going to have a reason for that.. and even longer, that it would be online.
