Believers vs non believers All religions please reply?

I would like all religions to respond to this question. I would like to know what makes you believe in a god whomever you may pray to whether it be Buddha or jesus or someone else. How do you know that your God is there and he is listening to you? A lot of people say that you are here because of "God". Why do you believe that? And I also would like to know from the non believers what makes you not believe? And since you dont believe what, in your opinion, will happen to you when it is your time to leave this earth? I am just a very curious person and I dont mean to offend anyone whether you are a believer or not I would just like to know what people around the world think about their religions.

I am a non-believer. I like to use the phrase in the beginning of the hitch-hikers guide to the galaxy by douglas adams. "The Universe is big. Really big."

It's true. The universe is an extraordinary size. The way i see it is that if God supposedly did create the earth. Did he create the whole universe as well? The chances of there being other life out there are high and the chances of there being another civilization out there with their own religion are also pretty good.

If god truly created the earth and the universe, then where have all the other religions come from. In my logic (not necessarily others) I see it as highly improbable that "someone" created everything. And even IF they did, then who or what created them??

i'm a christian. This happened because I went to support a friend at her baptism, despite my sceptical approach to organised faith, and during the service I was powerfully met by God, which is an awesome experience. If I had not experienced the presence of god for myself, I don't think I would have bothered with Jesus at all. Since my conversion experience 7 years ago, I have seen miracles, seen lives changed, and God has made me promises that have come true.

Well, I believe because it makes sense to me (for the time being). I try to base any theological theories and beliefs I have on logic, not spontaneous blind faith.

I believe (key word being believe - meaning personal perception as proof not facts) that Gods exist, because I have "felt" them (for lack of a better term) and I have seen results too many times for them to be a coincidence. Of course there is always a possibility that it's just a creation of my mind or that I see what I wish to see.

I don't believe we were created or are manipulated by any deities. I hold the scientific theories as the only true theories (facts) when coming to how we got here (e.g. evolution) or where we come from.

Religions and deities for me are simply for the field of spirituality. Spiritual advancement, enlightenment, philosophy. Not for morals, not for society issues, not for scientific issues. They simply don't belong there.

There are hygiene laws written for the human race in the book of Leviticus that are based on someones knowledge of the germ theory 3500 years ago. What human on Earth knew the germ theory 3500 years ago? You are right, no human did. So that is why I now believe in the existence of the God Yahweh who The Bible is quoting speaking and teaching these hygiene laws for the human race to a man named Moses.

christianity is unique in two ways: 1) only Jesus ever claimed to rise from the dead, and 2) only jesus teaches that doing "good works" does not get you eternal life-- a relationship with Him does. this sets christianity apart and makes it at least worth looking into.

if you are interested in looking into the evidence of jesus, read this short and amazing book: More than a Carpenter by Josh McDowell. or read the book of John in the Bible for an account of Jesus' life, death, and eyewitnessed resurrection from the dead.

Islam and Christianity cant be seen non violent. Judaism isn't non violent - additionally they homicide in great numbers. the only difference between Jews and others is that Judaism isn't a missionary faith. So we pay attention much less of them.
