Having problems installing RAM?

So I currently have 2gb of RAM in my PC using 2 x 1gb sticks. I am wanting to install 2 x 2gb so that will make 4gb. When I load the computer with the 4gb ram, I get this screen

and it won't load past it, I can't even press delete to get into the bios settings. I have a usb keyboard and have also tried with a (ps2?) keyboard. Nothing seems to work and I have also left it for 10 minutes and still nothing. When compaired next to each other, the RAM is the same shape and size and I am using windows xp.

On another note, when I put the original 2gb in and using my usb keyboard, I pressed del and it went straight into bios.

Please help me :)

Thanks

You're seeing the splash screen, this is supposed to show up as everything is loading. most newer PC's don't take long to load though, and the splash screen is often skipped, or isn't long enough for our brains to register it.

i suspect you are running a 32-bit system, which is the norm for most people. your problem is that 32-bit Operating Systems don't recognize anything past 3 GB Ram. to install 4GB or more, you will need to upgrade to a 64-Bit Operating System.

in case you're listening to the "Beeping" sound which potential the RAM isn't placed impressive. try putting it impressive & restating the laptop. If it nonetheless does no longer artwork, try the ram on your human beings laptop & see if it works. If there a situation with the RAM stick get a replace for the ram via contacting the area the place you acquire the RAM. good luck :)
