If Bidoof from Pokemon Pearl were a real animal what would it be?

Like how Starly is a bird, I don't know what Bidoof is I don't think a beaver, because it doesn't have a flat tail.

    Bibarel is more of a beaver in my opinion. But it doesn't have to match 100% with a real animal like Starly doesn't match 100% with birds in this world

    It is a beaver, Pokemon are just made a bit differently to not look identical to the real animals
