Do you think it is best to have never met your father or to have known him and be close until he passes away?

i think no matter what the terms are on how he left it is better to have known the type of man that he was. whether he was a good a bad man/father you will always be shapped into a better person for the trials that you've had to go through.. no something a bit more than you would have without that person either in your life or just passing through it. you would either be taught how to love.. or how to love someone better than you were ever loved.. anyway i hope that kinda helps you with something.. n i hope one day you get to meet your father you never know what you might get out of it.

I've met my father a few times, I haven't seen him since I was 15, I am now 22, and it won't matter to me if I ever see him again. He left when I was born.

My stepdad has been the best I could ever ask for in a father, and to me he is my father, I love and respect him more than I ever could my biological father.

it depends on the situation , i didn't know my father and then he came looking for me when i was 21 yrs old he is a okay guy but is wife caused lots of trouble between us because she was jealous of us getting close together , it was too much trouble , i moved abroad and got on with my life i text him now and then but we can never be close because of the rest of his family (wife and step daughter) so if you are thinking about looking for your father just don't expect it to be perfect, to tell you truth it has not made a big difference to my life meeting my father .

It depends on how he left you, maybe he left you by choice. And maybe he was forced to leave you!

You'd have to know the story to choose.
