What are the general prices of things in Hong Kong?
G'day all just would like to know the costs of things in Hong Kong. I'm interested in going there but have no idea what costs what. I'm from Australia by the way. I'm more concerned about knowing what hotel rooms cost, food and transport? If you can add anything else then that would be appreciated too. Many thanks

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely show you great hotels at the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

Compared to oz, transport and food generally cost less in hk.
Pulbic transport is convenient and on time, there are trains (MTR), trams, buses, minibuses, taxis and ferries... and you may check out the MTR map and fares here: http://www.mtr.com.hk/eng/homepage/cust_index.html
As for food, there's quite a lot to choose from, no matter how much your budget is. Giving you a rough idea, a fast food meal costs around HKD 30-40. Perhaps you'd like to read some restaurant reviews here:
