    1^2 = 1

    1^2 + 2^2 = 5

    1^2 + 2^2 + 3^2 = 14

    1^2 + 2^2 + 3^2 + 4^2 = 30

    1^2 + 2^2 + 3^2 + 4^2 + 5^2 = 55

    It's 55.

The pattern is where it adds a perfect square every time. [Perfect square are: 1, 4, 9, 16, 25, 36, 49..etc..]

    So it starts:

    0+1=1

    1+4=5

    5+9=14

    14+16=30

    30+25=55

    55+36=91

I think the next number is 55. The pattern is like this

    1 plus 2 squared (4) = 5

    5 plus 3 squared (9) = 14

    14 plus 4 squared (16) = 30

    therefore

    30 plus 5 squared (25) = 55

and the next number would be 55 plus 6 squared, etc. etc.

    Hope that makes sense.

    Source(s): I don't have a source - I just figured it out.

    It's adding by the perfect squares 4, 9, 16, 25 next so 30+25=55

    55

you add the next perfect square to the number in series..

    1 + (2^2) = 5

    5 + (3^2) = 14

    14 + (4^2) = 30

    30 + (5^2) = 55

    -a million/2, -4/2, -9/2, -sixteen/2, .. the subsequent term is -25/2 As you will discover, the numerator is the unmarried this is changing. it is the sq. of the subsequent term. -(a million^2)/2 = -a million/2 -(2^2)/2 = -4/2 -(3^2)/2 = -9/2 -(4^2)/2 = -sixteen/2 -(5^2) = -25/2 So the trend is tn = -(n^2)/2
