My body feels tired and sleepy after my alarm goes off. How can I wake up revitalized?

The season is changing from summer to fall, and I always have trouble waking up in the morning. I tend to slap off my alarm when it goes off, then pass out again on my bed where it is warm. My body physically lacks the strength to get up and stay balanced, and my eyes won't stay open for long. The last two days my nose felt pinched inside, and it burst into a bloody nose during my morning shower.

Other than drinking coffee, is there a natural way to develop a more energized wake-up pattern? Does anyone use meditation CD's to help get in the right frame of mind? Maybe a certain kind of pillow or mattress will help?

Flip your mattress over so it will level out to give you a good nite's rest. Aim for 8 hours sleep. Put your alarm clock on a table or dresser across the room so you will have to get up to turn it off. Or - get a clock/radio, turn the volume full blast & make sure it is across the room from you. Turn on a ceiling fan - even in cool weather - flip the switch to pull the air UP to make sure the air circulates to help you breathe while you sleep. Even if it's just on 'low' - it will keep the air moving.
