How do you determine that this is an Even function algebraically?
You cannot factor it any further except with (-1).
f(x)= (x-1)(x+3)(1+x)(3x-9)
And show full solution.... Thanks

Well an informal way to determine if it is even is to sub in a number, and then its negative, and see if this yields the same product:
Try +2 and then try -2 and notice the product is -45 in both instances.
A bit more formally, we can state: A function is even if,
f(x) = f(-x) I think this is correct but wait for other responses.

Substitue a number in for x. Lets say 5. Then substitute a negative 5
If both 5 and -5 yield the same answer then the function is even.
The formal notation way of expressing that a function is even is: f(x) = f(-x)
