Anyone know other songs like this?? Blues/jazz?

I really like this song by Nina Simone... (I Put A Spell On You)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=boQ9ytantA0

I was wondering if anyone knows of similar artists? I like the blues jazz kinda stuff, that's the most important part - not so much the singing or even if there is singing...

Thanks!!!

    My friend Wire & String listed one of my two favorite Nina Simone tunes-Mississippi Goddamn. Here's the other, I Hold No Grudge;

Nina Simone is a unique singer, but here are some you may like old and new:

    Dianna Krall

    Dina Washington

    Diana Shurr

    Gloria Lynne

    Etta James

    Etta Jones

    Betty Carter

    Sara Vaughan

and of course the greatest of all, Miss Billie Holiday

Can't do better than the others. That song sends shivers. Even the more known Creedence Clearwater Revival version. Below is an Allmusic link that will give you more on Simone. Similar artists and whom she influenced.

One of my favorite female vocalists is Janiva Magness

I like the list from the previous guy.

Have you heard the original version of that song - by Screamin' J Hawkins? It's pretty cool.

Also, check out the old blues singer Bessie Smith, who influenced a lot of the people on the other guy's list (including Billie Holiday) and was also a big influence for Janis Joplin.

The Mingus CD, and various of alternative others by making use of Joni Mitchell like Hejira, Don Juan's Reckless Daughter and The Hissing of summer time Lawns, heavily jazz orientated on a similar time as not mainstream in any respect, are worth a pay attention. Diana Krall, Tom Scott, something that Jaco Pastorius replaced into part of, wowee, there are purely too many to type out. relies upon in case you like vocals or instrumentalists, Dixieland, etc. maximum of varieties now. you purely could desire to meander alongside the line and luxuriate interior the holiday, listening each of ways.
