Frank Sinatra Vs Elvis, who do you prefer?
a lot of people may think im crazy for asking this, but i totally love frank more! Vocally, I think he was much more talented than elvis. So many people are asking whether you prefer elvis or michael jackson, or MJ vs the beatles, but what i would like to know is, sinatra or presley?

This is tough. I'm 29, and Elvis and Frank Sinatra are my 2 favorite singers. Frank Sinatra & Elvis' career are much more closely related than Elvis to MJ or Elvis to the Beatles, so you question is actually the most valid comparison.
I say they are more closely related, not because their styles were the same but because their careers were similar. In the 1940's Frank Sinatra was the first teen idol, or more properly the first singer to appeal to teens. He also had a successful acting career. Sinatra was also a huge Vegas star. Superficially their styles were very far apart, but were they really. Neither Sinatra nor Presley were song writers, but they were musical icons. Both took existing songs, some popular some not so popular, and made the song theirs, to the point that the song became synonymous with their name, even if it was a big hit prior to their recording of the song.
Although I like Elvis a hair better, Sinatra had a longer career and I liked him throughout his career. Elvis' career was from 1953 - 1977 but I only liked 1953 - 1968 and 1973. Elvis made more of an impact on music, because he started everything that is today, even though the style is different it all stems from Elvis. Had Elvis never recorded, music would still be like what Frank Sinatra sung, which is fine, but what Sinatra sung was no different than what Bing Crosby sung before him, and I'm sure Bing sang like the generation before that. But no one sang like Elvis before there was an Elvis. Yea I'll stick with Elvis, sorry Frank, I will say I like your version of Love Me Tender a little bit better when you had the special for Elvis when he came back from the army, but Elvis' version of Witchcraft I liked better.
I love both, but I'm sticking with Elvis.

I have been a fan of Elvis and Frank so this is a difficult one to decide, so sorry I am going to sit on the fence and say both of them.
Elvis was a great ballad singer but Frank just had the edge over him, when it came to Rockn'Roll it was Elvis who had the edge.
Great singers, sadly missed.

Personally I feel elvis was a joke and my friends think the same thing. Elvis could not sing, could not act and jumped around like he had ants in his pants. Also, what was up with the sweat and stupid looking jump suits..LOL
Sinatra was class, a looker and made your heart flutter...Loved the rat pack...Oh yes! sinatra could act the other one had no abilities to sing, act and was a total joke/

Oh man... this IS a toughie!! It's like comparing apples and oranges!
I have to admit, I LOVE Frank Sinatra in "Guys and Dolls". He and Marlon Brando really made that movie incredible!
I would have to say for mellow, relaxing music at home with a glass of wine- I'd pick Sinatra. He and his fellow Rat Pack-ers had incredible music.
For "fun" music to play in my car, Elvis, definitely! Besides, nothing beats going down to Memphis and spending an afternoon at the whole Graceland area with all the shops, food, and of course the mansion itself.
Sinatra had the age and experience in singing that made his voice so rich, and he had such a long career. Elvis, on the other hand... his career was relatively brief. Each man filled their own musical niche in a way no one can ever replicate.
