    use titebond II wood glue...its moisture resistant even tho you shouldnt immerse a wooden cutting board anyway...any hardwood is ok...maple and walnut or cherry will give you nice contrasting boards...

    Maple is a good wood and carpenter's glue (white glue) works very well.

    Use maple and Gorilla glue
