skin care license question?

I am interested in giving facials (just a commercial rub-on then rinse-off type facial) in my retail store where I sell the products. Do I have to get a skin care license in order to do those? I would not be doing any other types of facials, only the rub-on rinse-off mask like people do at home.

Yes, you can definitely check with the Dept of Health and/or Cosmotology licensing. However as I understand it, if you are not charging to do the mini facial, then you do not need a license. The gals at the "cosmetic counter" at the department stores are not licensed aestheticians and they "touch" the face all the time. As you don't have to be licensed to be a make up artist either........

Source(s): Sold other skin care lines, friends that are make up artists, I'm also a licensed aesthetician.

You need to contact the licensing department for your city to find out, every place has different requirements.
