Good age to start dating?

I am 12 but Im not allowed to date till Im 18 apparently.

How old were you when you first started dating & how far did you go?

In dating I dont mean true love getting married etc, I mean just going to the movies and kissing and holding hands?

well i was wondeirng this also..i dont know about 12 since you are busy with toher stuff but thats a ok age but parents always assume the worst these days with all the stories about peoples 12/13 year old daughters getting pregnant by these sex crazed 13-16 year old boys..but i admit that is happening more but its not a big major deal..and like 18 is when you can move out and you are a full adult so maybe thats why they say that to start dating? think they mean dating as in getting serious like doing everything or living together and planning to get married...truth is there is no 'age' if you feel mature anough and all that then go ahead right i know a 11 year old who is dating a 13 year old guy and she is mature as a 16 year old girl easy so it shard to say person to person..and yeah could go on forever but msotly people wills ay its when you feel ready and are mature but even i will admit i have never really had a girlfriend before or my first kiss even and i am years past 12..but i think thats ok because i am focused on other things for my future so that stuff can wait

I'm fourteen and I haven't started dating yet. At twelve, you really don't need a boyfriend. Enjoy your childhood while it lasts, because it won't be much longer until high school comes around. I think fourteen or fifteen is a good age to start dating, if not later. I really don't get it when people freak out that they haven't ever had a boyfriend when they're only twelve or thirteen; you have your whole life ahead of you, so why do you need one now?

I started having "boyfriends", if you can call them that, at age 10! We held hands but that was about it.

My first more serious relationship was in grade 10. We held hands, kissed but not much more than that. It didn't last at the time, but we re-kindled things later and now he's my hubby and father to my kids!

Your parents are just trying to protect you, not wanting you to do something you'll regret. Date when you're ready though, but remember there is no rush! You have the rest of your life to meet people, have flings and more serious relationships and all of that stuff. And boys will always be the same no matter what age! lol

I am not letting my daughter date until 16. I think 12 is too young and 18 is pretty old to just be starting dating. It depends on the person.

I think that 12 is too young. Around 15 or 16 is the right age to start. 18 is a bit weird.

I'm 13, and I think I'm too young to date.

To me theres two kinds of dating.

the kind when you just flirt with boys and "go out" but really the only thing you do is text each other

and the kind when you actually go places and meet guys and kiss and stay in relationships if it works out.

for the first id say 12 the second would be around high school. probably 15 or whenever you are a freshman

When I was 14 I dated this guy who was one of my best friends. My mom let me, but my dad didn't (shh! :)

We didn't ever kiss, or hold hands, really. We just hung out and went to the movies alot. Haha. It wasn't too interesting. We were just trying to get the feel for 'dating'.

My mom said that she would let me at 13.

However, I waited until I was 14. Which was my first year of high school.

That first love, is still my one true love.

    We're getting married next year!

my first bf and kiss was at 15. my dad didn't let me go with him to the movies by ourselves. we had friends and his mom and sister were with us. we sat alone though. we dated for 8 months.

we broke up and i started "talkin" to another guy. which is 17 and we went to the movies and dinner this past summer. my mom and step dad let me do that.

    my real dad doesn't know.
