How to put MSN in the system tray (notification area) on Windows 7?
I just installed Windows 7 a few weeks ago, and I cannot figure out how to put MSN into the "notification area" (the space where the time is displayed).
On my laptop it constantly stays open on the bottom of the page as if it were an Internet Browser.

I don't think you can but to make sure that if it is running in the background you can type in
msconfig
in the Start Search box. From there click on the "Strartup" tab and give it a search. By the way you can disable the programs that you don't want to run anymore

You can't, you can only add it to the "quick launch" which is a lot easier to use once you get the hang of it just right click on it and choose pin to taskbar
