Do you believe in shopping therapy?

Initially, I do’t believe in it. I wonder how can shopping can be stress-buster or is a remedy for tired body and mind. But now I prescribed it to everyone.

I have thought about it and my theory is that it has to be with our primitive instinct. In the stone age when primal men hunted a big catch and bring it to their family, they must have great feeling, which is still in our genes.

Not for everything... For me only going shopping for indian grocery is a remedy, as I get to see indian food, people and environment there (back ground songs/ people speaking our language) in the store...makes me feel so good. Otherwise shopping is a headache for me.

I think, As a Natural Creations, We Humans have the Need to Defend Our self, without Believing On Somebody, But, Most of the Time, When ever, Our Mind is Not Working Properly, We are Depend On Others, to Get for the Solutions, But, Sometimes, It May Not Understand by the Others Properly or They May Get Stressed by the Frequent Questions of the Same Manner, which, They may Not Find the Suitable Solutions to Convince the Questioner, Some of US, May Show Their Anger, Like the Same as the Parents Showing Their Anger On Their Continuously Crying Child. It is Better, without Taking It Seriously, When There is So Many Members Available Here.

No, it's not a good coping strategy. It's only effective in inducing a temporary "feel good" feeling, and does not deal with the actual problem, neither it provides any means to solve the cause of the stress. also, it is neither feasible to go on a shopping spree whenever you feel down. chances are, you will buy impulsively, without thinking much that results in some really horrific buys.and some serious financial crisis at the end of the month.

I don't believe in Shopping Therapy.

Just two or three days back I had to shop for a dress. Me and My friend reached the shopping plaza in cheerful mood, and then after searching and scrutinizing for about 2 hrs I couldn't like anything, and I felt like totally tired and dull. It took me 4-5 hrs to buy dresses. And I especially hate Trail rooms.

Actually Shopping therapy is not like hunting, in contrary Shopping is like being Hunted. Look at the prices, soaring high....

    You are right..

But this can sometimes be disastrous...

If you are stressed out, there are a lot chances that you may invest in things you don't really need.

This may cause you problems later (if you calculate how much you spent)

So I guess window shopping is a better option here.

    I recommend another option...

Sometimes when you are humiliated by life and wish if you had the power to end it all...Just sleep it off.

Sleep like you never have and when you wake up you are on a better side.

  • Yes it is very good for two type of persons. One is the shopper and one is the Seller.

But the shopper who is suffering from Fat Pocket flowing with money need it to reduce the level of overflowing money and go for shopping malls. and within shortest time s/he will be cured of Fat Pocket.

And second one is Seller. This is good for him as he helps the customer to shed the excess money they are carrying, they are relieved of taking care of money, drawing and using in right time.

This is to be recommended to all friends and relatives who are troubling you again and again for short quick loan and not bothering to return the money.

it is good for economy to come in vibrancy and generates the health among the depressed industries where consumption is gone below average sales. It helps employees to ensure they are retained and are getting the incentives and perks.
