20 - 6 x (2 + 1) = 2

20 - 6 [2 + 1] = 2
20 - 6 x 3 = 2
20 - 18 = 2
2 = 2

I think you mean to say the phrase PEMDAS (parenthases, exponents, multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction)
20 - 6 x (2 + 1) = 2
Put the parenthases or brackets here because:
According to PEMDAS, now you read it as doing
2 + 1 = 3 first,
then 6 x 3 = 18,
then lastly 20 - 18 = 2

20-[6x(2+1)]=2
you need to add the 2+1 first to equal 3
then multiply the 3 and the 6 to equal 18
then subtract 18 from 20 to get 2=2
