New to Los Angeles and looking to meet people?

I know what you mean after trying to meet people at my neighborhood bar I quickly found out that the only thing they want to do is drink. People can also be pretty flaky here.

If you have a dog going to a dog park is a good way to meet people.

meetup.com (there is a group for whatever your interest might be) and yelp.com (social web site where people review bars, restaurants & everything in between) both have get togethers.

If you live near a beach there are 30-minute beach clean ups once a month and that's a good way to meet people.

I just moved to LA a year ago. Mainly just socialize at school or work!

Go to Santa Monica. you can meet lots of ppl at the Pier.
