why they say that vlad tepes(dracula)is a vampire?

i cnt get it i'm romanian and from the history i cnt understand y they say he's a vampire!!

    Because Bram Stoker used him as the basis for his fictional vampire, Count Dracula.

    This popularized Vlad as a vampire to the average person (at least in the Western world).

    It's my understanding that in Romania he is viewed as a historical hero because he fought and was victorious against the Turks.

    Vlad Tepes was considered a vampire because as far as I can tell He would hold feasts under the body's of his victims. I have also heard that he would drink their blood from goblets as a way to show his so called superiority to the lower class.
