What else could cause this deisel to not start?

Someone ran gasoline in a Bobcat S-150 Scooploader.. We replaced the engine, drained the fuel filter and cleaned it with diesel, and drained the fuel tank and filled it with diesel.... But it won't start still.. Anybody have any Ideas on what else it could be????

Update:

yes we just replaced the engine... thought the one in it was probably toast.. we did try priming the fuel system, and cracked lines at the injector pump, but the fuel wasn't coming out at the injectors...

Update 2:

yes we just replaced the engine... thought the one in it was probably toast.. we did try priming the fuel system, and cracked lines at the injector pump, but the fuel wasn't coming out at the injectors...

Update 3:

yes we just replaced the engine, which means the injector pump and metal lines are brand new. we had to re-use the rubber lines and filter, but both were drained and cleaned with diesel.. thought engine in it was probably toast after how long it did run on gas before it died.. we did try priming the fuel system, and cracked lines at the injector pump, but the fuel wasn't coming out at the injectors...

you have to prime the fuel system. try craking the fuel lines right where they go into each cylinders injector. and crank it. as each injector line starts to show signs of fue, tighten the line. once all are done, it should start. you might want to prime the fuel filter first by filling it with clean fuel and then screw it on, or there might be a prime button, or prime screw you can loosen and then crank till you get fuel.

the pump in the tank is low pressure and the engine has the high pressure. also new enines some times take a while to build up the high pressure oil pump that is used to open then injectors. diesels have oil pressure that runs in the engine for lubrication of the bearings, and it is read by the guage. then it has a internal high pressure oil pump to make the fuel injectors open, and it has about 2-3000 lbs of pressure in some diesel engines. try what I mentioned about priming the fuel system, cause if there is air, it wont start

You replaced the engine? Maybe that is a typing mistake?

Did you remove the injectors and the injector pump and had them cleaned out? Did you clean out the delivery pipes?

Did you prime the system before you tried to start it? If not, then you may have air in the system, and that will have to be bled out.
