    You have to check the following;

    1. rotor might be malfunctioning

    2. poor spark plugs

    3. bad hi tension wires

    4. malfunctioning ignition coil.

Have this check by a good mechanic. Hope this helps!

yeah you got that right... how can 6 go bad at once... the thing is, in cars that have coil on plug ignition you have to replace ALL of them when you replace the plugs..

ok, you dont HAVE to, but it's recommended by the manufacturer to do so..

that would obviously be the best place to start. chances are whoever does your spark plugs has neglected to change those out. it's highly possible that if ONE goes out they could all stop functioning...

are you POSITIVE that none of your plugs are getting spark and not just the one?

there may be something in the computer telling them not to work because there's 1 bad one that way you don't have a misfiring cylinder. could be a safety measure in other words.

or your computer could be fried.

the best thing to do honestly is to hook it up to a diagnostic computer. they can tell you exactly what's wrong with it 99% of the time..

The difficult part is GETTING it to a shop....

try changing the coils, plugs and wires.. if it runs after that, still take it in to be sure there's nothing else wrong..

    have fun

Have you checked to see if its throwing any codes? The 4th generation maxima has on board diagnostics so you can check for codes yourself right in your driveway. Even if the check engine light isn't on.. there can still be "ghost codes" stored in the ECU.

Here is how to easily check for codes yourself at home with nothing but a screw driver.

The 4th generation maxima does have lots of problems with the coils but all 6 wouldn't go out at once. If one of them is arching a spark onto the block.. it might prevent it from turning over and starting. All kinds of bad things can happen due to faulty coils. My 99 maxima was backfiring out of the intake due to a bad coil pack. Have you checked for a spark at all 6 plugs?

If you do decide to get new coil packs dont buy the ones from autozone and dont buy them from the dealer. You will end up paying over $500 for them at autozone and even more than that from the dealer. I got all 6 brand new OEM coil packs off of ebay for $325 shipped.

I am having the same issue with a 2000 maxima. Good injector pulse, good crank sensor wave form from both crank sensors, and cam sensor.

No ground opening on any of the coils. I did see somthing i didnt like on my data pids. One crank sensor reading 175 rpm, while cranking, and the other is reading 225 rpm

Does the PCM have a reference from the Crankshaft Position Sensor? If no reference then no spark.

Does the electrical plug powering the coil packs show to have positive power? Most of these systems use constant positive power while key is on and grounds the coil to activate it.

Check the above first before questioning the PCM.

Left inner fender under the hood look for the eccs fuse. That fuse runs all the engine control electronics. Electronic Motor mount failure can blow that fuse as well as many other things on that circuit.

Check the ignition coil or coil packs.
