How can I get over my ex boyfriend?

I really want to get over my ex. Im 13, he's 13. I visited my grandparents over the summer in Idaho and I met him. He gave me my first kiss. Of course, i had to come back home, here in Arizona. Ive tried everything. I asked all my friends, but i seem to not be taking it well cause he is the 1st boy i actually loved and he doesn't even want to be friends. He totally hates me and that's why i especially think i should get help to get over him. I finally got another boyfriend, but he lives in Cali so i never met him. I really want to have dreams about my new boyfriend but all the dreams i have about are my ex. I cant even barely listen to my favorite type of music cause he listens to it. I can barely handle anything at this moment. Like i cant barely watch people play football cause that's what he plays. Its like he is haunting me. I also SO REGRET going out with him even though my wish was to get my first kiss which i received. Please help me. Im begging you. :'(

It's a little romantic to think of pining away for a boyfriend far away or him for you. The problem with distance is that we tend to remember only the good things, especially from a summer romance, and idealize a person who is only human with warts and all. We end up with an image that no one can live up to. It makes a lot more sense, and is a lot more fun too, to find a boyfriend in your own school. Some one you can see often and whose company you can enjoy. Sure, you won't be able to fantasize that he's perfect, but you can get to know him as a real person, you can go out together with your friends, meet him for lunch, he might even let you watch him play football! Honey, you're just starting this bf/gf thing, don't limit yourself, get out there and have fun and save the fantasy for books and movies.

I don't want to sound like an asshole but teen relationships never work out. I'm sorry.
