Is it possible to make chocolate peanut butter truffles WITHOUT butter?

Also, what do recipes mean when they ask for butter and right next to it they say no substitutes?

Yes, it is possible to make any truffles without butter. I have never used butter in any truffles I have ever made. I work as a Pastry Chef.

The reason some recipes will say no subs, is because not only do you want the flavor of the butter, but also the texture. That is something that any substitutes will have.
