how to get back at my roommate?

she always uses my dishes and leaves them dirty so i've moved everything of mine into my bedroom and lock my door when i go out. she used to eat my food but she doesn't anymore. she even would feed her hungry and drunk boyfriend my food. i can't talk to her because she talks crap about me to her friends as though i'm stupid and i overreact. i can't afford to take care of her 23 year old ***. i'm 19.

something legal to get back at her please?

Update:

i also can't move out. i'm tied up in a lease. we both are.

If she won't listen to reason, speak with the landlord, if it is really that bad, break the lease and move back in with your folks, or move a new boyfriend in, even if you don't like him, it will give her a taste of her own medicine.

I usually have people rent out my extra bedroom in exchange for helping out with bills. The pro's are I get extra money, the con's are I have to clean up after them and handle all the bills myself. I don't mind the con's.. I'm more interested in money :) To ensure that my roommate's don't p*** me off.. I set out the rules ahead of time (pay your bills on time no matter what and don't come in my room if the door is closed etc). The main thing is that you understand each other. By being friendly with them.. it is very unlikely they'll try to screw you. The smart thing to do is what I did.. I've leased my apt since 12/05 and I'm no longer on a contract. From the beginnng I have kept at least 1 roommate (my fiance). By doing this you can "control the household", so then you will gain more respect!

Okay. Well if she won't listen to you then you don't really have a choice.

    Stop cleaning up after her.

keep your extra dishes in your room. Be a ***** and don't worry about it. It'll all be worth it if she changes or leaves. Don't do anything for her.

You could invest in a mini fridge for your groceries? Or buy your groceries in smaller quantities..

I'm sure at some point she'll cave but if she doesn't then you'll have to try "talking" with her again. However, by this time, she'll sick of living in her filth and things may change.

    move out?

    ***EDIT***

my wife was in a similar situation when we first started dating. She went to the landlord and explained "hey, my roommates are being douchebags...etc... etc..." and they let her take her name off of the lease.

not all landlords are that nice... but worth a try, eh?

also wanted to tell you.. don't stoop to their level of idiocy.. it's not worth you potentially getting into trouble just to get back at people who, quite frankly, aren't worth the effort.

You're the one that should grow up

I would say the first thing you should do is:

    GROW UP.

Yes, you're 19....that's very obvious. GROW UP.

If you don't like your roommate I say you GROW UP.

If you have issues with them taking your food I say you GROW UP.

Thank you for your question, now please GROW UP.
