    The Golden Nugget South tower is probably the most inexpensive four diamond hotel in the country. Stay above the 14th floor, there is a small surcharge but it's not much and it's worth the money for the view.

    ==============

    The El Cortez is the definition of "Old Vegas". As the only purpose built casino, constructed before the end of WW2, it is a real bargain. The Tower rooms have a great view and they are very large (but the furniture all looks to be about 30 years old. There is even a sofa.

    Jackie Gaughan, the legendary owner is now age 88, and he is the last surviving relic of Las Vegas from the 1950's and 1960's. He plays poker in the casino every day , if you relish the idea of playing a small stakes game with a mega multimillionaire, this is your hotel.

    I don't recommend staying here with a woman. They don't appreciate the joys of a place like this.

    Best Fremont Street Hotel

    The Golden Nugget, I went to Vegas back in July and that is where I stayed at. It is right there so as soon as you walk out of the casino you will be on the Fremont Experience. And also see what rooms you want, the hotel looks nice and it is not that expensive. The South Towers are cheaper than the North Towers, because South is more of a two bed simple suite and the North have all of the fancy rooms, but it's all still nice. And if you want to go on the strip you may want a rental car, but when you go you will love it like I did!!!

    Las Vegas is the most interesting and enjoyable town on earth and with hotelbye you will discover out more. Nowhere otherwise on earth you will discover a town that has most of the journey amenities that merely a complete resort location can offer: lavish casino hotels, fine dining, wonderful live amusement and state-of-the artwork meeting and trade display facilities. Las Vegas is surely a spectacular city and exactly what you'd assume from the world-class metropolis, and more, is right here for your journey pleasure. One of many areas you need to visit in Las Vegas is the Fremont Street, a pedestrian region with all kinds of distinctive sites.

    Golden Nugget is the best on Fremont. However for a good old time experience I suggest Four Queens. This is what made Las Vegas ... Vegas. You have to experience Old Las Vegas at least once.

    I stayed at the Las Vegas Club once. The casino was tacky but the rooms were clean, quiet and cheap. And that is all I want from a hotel in Vegas. The breakfast at the cafe on the second floor was decent too.

    El Cortez. Its farther down the street, more peaceful sleep.

    At night the downtown association play the gazebo thingy very loud music speakers, any rooms nearby,no sleep. Its that thing that shades Fremont street.

    or the Main Street Station. On Main street. About 2 blocks.

    I would probably say the Golden Nugget. They recently did a lot of remodeling. They have a nice pool. I have always gotten good service there too. And no, I don't work for the Golden Nugget. I just did some of the remodeling construction there, and used to gamble there years ago.

    Main Street Station is really cool, the best casino though small and buffet. It is connected to California Club by an enclosed walkway. People from HA love both hotels.
