New age christians or new age catholics: I could only guess that it is referred to the younger generation Western catholics. I have observed the following:

I have been traveling in Europe, e.g. Spain, Italy, then in middle east, e.g. Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Oman, Morocco

In Western countries, devotion to saints were tempered due to the Protestants influence, where they focused on Jesus. Same with devotion to St Mary due to the ignorance between worship and veneration. Such that, the modern music ministries of the protestant do attract young catholics.

However in eastern catholicism, e.g. Damascus, Jordan, Turkey, the devotion to the saints is as the same. Even the muslims venerates the Virgin Mary in Ephesus; they pray to St John the Baptist and St Zachariah in Damascus, even ask favor from St Thecla in Maoulola Syria in line with the orthodox christians; nothing has changed.

Majority of the catholics are in Europe and mid-east.

I just came back from Spain, young and old are still walking the St James way in compostella; I attended the latin mass in St. James Cathedral in Compostela, Lady of Montserrat, Lady of Pillars, and definitely the fervor to the devotions to St Mary and the Saints did not fan out; it is awesome to see faith of waves of people in pilgrimage.

To my understanding, the lukewarmness to the saints is only in the western world and is not representative of the entire catholicism . Although we have the Shrine of our Lady Fatima in New York is bustling with devotions.

The cathecism of the catholic church should be a mandatory learning on young catholics. Just like the madressa school for the muslims, where youth memorizes the koran, reason possibly why islam has now over populated the catholics.

"NewAge Christian" is an oxymoron. One can not believe in lies of demons and still call themselves a Christian. (Which may explain why they don't believe in the communion of the saints, since they are not saints to begin with.)

But I'm very curious, because I have never heard of a "NewAge Christian". Are there actually people who believe in the new age movement, and yet call themselves Christians? Do they actually exist? I've been a Christian for 35 years, ever since I first had an encounter with Jesus Christ who radically changed my life; and I've never heard of that phrase before.

I'm with the guy above, wondering what New Age Christians are, and what sort of kooky things they believe. All that New Age mumbo- jumbo and Christianity don't seem to mix. I can't imagine what such a religion would entail.

they suspect that they'd get the final of the two worlds by utilising indulging in new-age practices without each and all of the synthetic guilt-journeys, jointly as on an identical time keep the self-righteousness and status-quo approval that comes from the label "Christian".

Do you know who are the "saints"?

    We Christians are.

I'm a saint, if you are born again in Christ Jesus you are etc. Not just who the RCC appoints.
