where can I find these beads?
While sorting through a box of costume jewelry I found a string of beads I love and would like to find more beads of this type. They are pastel in color and lightweight, probably plastic, and covered in the same silky fiber you find on those styrofoam Christmas balls. I am not sure what to call it, but searching the online bead stores came up zero. Is anyone familiar with them?

Only yesterday I was at Europe's biggest bead fair, but I didn't know there would be a question about beads today. Yes, a lot of fabric (or at least thread-covered beads) are still being produced. There are some which are a bit like the Japanese temari balls (yarn wound round and round the ball to make a pattern). I've had a quick trawl through and can't find a site. You could start off looking at
www.firemountaingems.com or maybe buy a beading magazine to get more addresses.

yup... go to Michaels Craft store and show them your beads. They will show you their supply so you can buy more.
