No driver is anything like Dale Earnhardt in personality or character.
Juan Pablo Montoya, in the past 10 weeks or so has been driving closer to Dale's style than any other driver. He has the tenacity that defined Dale, he is a good and smart driver and he will move someone when needed. Some drivers are starting to move out of Juan's way already.
Brad Keselowski may turn out to be very similar to Dale in the way he races. It's too early to tell if he will be that good of a driver or if he has the tenacity.

Of Dale Sr were still alive I don't think he would be racing anymore. Someone else would have probably died if it hadn't been him. He is the reason why all the changes were made in the first place. Who's to say though he could have continued racing to this day and maybe won a few more races probably not a championship but a few races. Jr wouldn't be the most popular if Sr was still around to this day it would either be Sr or Gordon. GO JAMIE MAC

Nobody ever has or ever will come close to Dale Sr. Even though Jeff Gordon may have passed him in the career wins category, people still don't move aside when the 24 rolls up on the back bumper like they did with the black 3. And they certainly aren't scared of the likes of Kyle Busch. Hate to say it but even Dale Jr can't hold a candle to his dad. Jr has some of his dad's moves but there has only ever been and will forever be only ONE Intimidator.

As everyone else has said no one is or will ever be "close" to being Dale Earnhardt but if i had to answer i would say:
On the track;Tony Stewart-i don't think anyone wants to see him in their rear-view mirror at the end of the race.
Off the track-No one all of the drivers seem to gripe and moan about what happened on the track after the race. Whether Dale wrecked or got wrecked at the end of the race he would ALWAYS say "that's just one of those racing things".
I sure miss him.

It would have to be Jimmy Johnson. I know he isn't anything like Sr....but he is the most dominate driver on the track and is capable of winning, even when he is back in the pack. Nobody moves out of the way, but I bet he gets their attention when he pulls up on their bumper.
There will never be another Sr. I hated him for years, but grew to respect and admire him. He was a great man and will forever be missed.

Jeff Gordon! Alot of his driving style is like Dale Sr.! Move Or Be Moved! You see them coming up in your rear view mirror you probably should get out of the way or you will wish you had!

In what way?? In driving style. it would be Jr.. I know he denies being like his dad, and he isn't.. But his driving is very similar.. Both Rusty, and Andy Petree have said that on many occasions..He's also a very generous man, just like his dad was.. If he can't win a race he will help a friend to win it, if he's given the opportunity (ask Dale Jarrett, Ryan Newman, or Bobby Labonte).. Of course he will never have that hunger that his dad had, because he never had to worry about actually feeding his family, as his dad did (and his granddad)..
Montoya does think the same way as Dale did, but doesn't take the same risks, or have as much fun behind the wheel..
Kyle is nothing like Dale.. He takes risks, but they aren't thought out very well, with spotty results.. Dale knew what he would do, and where he had to be for the whole race.. And above all, he had a good time.. Kyle doesn't have a good time, and only has plans to lead.. Both of those are obvious... Much has been said about Dale's run from eighteenth to the lead at Talladega, in four laps.. Nobody ever mentioned that he intentionally dropped back to eighteenth to pick up a drafting partner.. That was Kenny Wallace in Andy Petree's 55 car.. And that had been pre-arranged...

It's all opinion... but I do know alot of Sr. fans that became Stewart fans because of his driving style and outspokenness. Nothing or nobody will ever match his intimidation factor, as NASCAR won't let drivers drive like that anymore... kinda boring.
Kyle Busch is NOT Sr. at all. If anything he's more of a Rusty Wallace... Drive hard, try to do everything, and when it doesn't go his way... whine about it.

There is nobody like Dale, Sr in NASCAR at this time. Most of the high-profile drivers are nothing more than product-hawking, cardboard cutouts.
Even Kyle Busch's persona is contrived and manufactured by PR people. Kyle is over-the-top whiny, rude, arrogant, and disrespectful. Go look at Darrell Waltrip's early career and you'll see why DW likes Kyle so much.
While Montoya may have an Earnhardt-esque swagger to him, Dale Sr. had more driving ability in his pinky than Montoya has in his whole body. Montoya will be lucky to finish his Sprint Cup career with 10 wins.
