What is your take on what happened with Tigers player Miguel Cabrera this past weekend? Details inside->?

When alcohol is involved, many stupid things are done... this is just another classic example. Miguel probably lost a ton of respect from his team mates, fans, and family.

"The chief says Rosangel Cabrera asked that her husband leave the house, so officers took him to the police station, where he was picked up by Tigers general manager Dave Dombrowski around 7:30 a.m."

yeah i heard about this on the radio this morning. He came to the game saturday with scratches all over his face, and the tigers nor he would explain what happened. Meanwhile he's in the lineup through all of this, and he goes 0-4 with a strikeout and 6 runners left on base. So it did effect his play on the field. Yesterday tigers won but he was poor again 0-3, and he missed an opportunity in the ninth inning to close out the game with a double play(foot came off the bag). I doubt if his recent poor play is just a coincidence. I just hope he gets it together by tuesday, cuz tigers gonna need a lot of offense to beat twins. I predict a 8-6 score, hopefully tigers are the ones with 8.

One conspiracy theory that is playing out on Chicago sports radio today is that Ozzie Guillen was behind this to help out the "Pirhanas" Ozzie's nickname for the Twins. Guillen has always admired the Twins because of the way they play the game. So Ozzie gets Miguel(fellow Venezuelans)to go out and party so Miguel gets in trouble and then the Tigers have another distraction to deal with as they head to the Metrodome to play the Twins on Tuesday night. I doubt that that is the real story but with Ozzie Guillen you never know.

I am really sorry to hear this, because I looked up to this guy. He was the "chosen one" by Andres Galarraga, soon to become part of the Hall of Fame in Baseball and be inmortalized. How could he do this, Golden Child !!! Way to go Miguel ! Thought that only Magglio Ordoñez was capable of such attrocities !

I think you mean, Johnny Damon goin to party til 4 AM in Boston with Nick Swisher... which allegedly did happen in the beginning of the season this year... no one parties with Jeter b/c he is a square.

I don't care... drinking is fun, and I'm not the fun police, no, no far from it. These guys are all friends. Miggy prolly bet em some drinks and lost... or he was like, "next time yr in Motown I'll show you fellas a good time." and he did b/c he keeps his end of the bargain.

What a person does on his free time is his own business. However, Cabrera should have been a lot more careful since he is considered a public figure of sorts.

First of all, who is she to tell him to leave the house? Secondly, we can't assume he even touched her. That double standard always made me laugh. If a woman showed up to work with scratches on her face, the man would be completely ostracized and be labeled as a piece of scum. Yet she attacked him and we all think Miguel is the jerk.

He's young and rich. Prob all coked up and wanted some booty. Since she wouldn't give it up he slapped the tar out of her. Why pretend this ain't what happened.

Women always govern their men to their doom. He should dump her and hire a housekeeper with benefits!
