    I'd recommend the Apache RTR 180, & here's why:

To quote the earlier answerer Hari - "Apache rtr is good but the body seems to be small for the price they are charging. you might face road grip probs."

You know LLOYD, I bet Hari has never had a close encounter with the RTR series (160 or 180). The RTR's body is rivalled only by the Pulsar 180, such is its fit, finish & paint work.

Also, I believe Bajaj & TVS know more than Hari...no chain cover doesn't mean the life of the chain is short. Pulsar & Apache have different types of chains. They have very small rubber rings covering the chain rollers so no dirt & dust can enter in the chains. That is the reason they don't require full chain cover like the Hunk.

& Mr. Hari is wrong again when he says life of open chain is 25000 Kms & closed chain is 45000 kms. My Fiero F2's chain & sprockets had to be changed after 22000 Kms. They had the chain cover on, regular greasing always done....its because powerful bikes & rough driving, acceleration wear-out the chain & tyres quickly than a 100cc bike.

Hunk costs less because it is a 150cc bike with absolutely zero engine superiority. No high quality components, just lots of fiber parts to show-off. Parts which will be destroyed in the first crash.

Pulsar 180 & Apache RTR 180 have wide rear tyres & great road grips. Road grip is a function of tyre compound, tyre size, suspension & wheelbase which both bikes have good.

Ombudsman too is wrong when he says "apache rtr is good but the poor rear suspension (even though gas filled) is very tough n hard on you back." He doesn't know the RTR is what I can tell. I have driven the bike...my friend has one. Also, the stiffer the suspension is, better will be the bikes high-speed control, agility.

The most powerful bike is Apache RTR 180 with 17.3 PS. Pulsar 180 is 17.02 PS.

Apache RTR is 17.3 PS = 17.06 bhp

    Pulsar 180 is 17.02 PS = 16.78 bhp

Fazer is only for style. For Rs. 82,000, you get a poor 14 bhp, the bike does not cross 110 kmph, has very fat tyres which are only for style...low mileage. FZ & Fazer return around 40 kmpl & at best, you will get 45 kmpl. Fazer is for driving like an uncle....slow, no hurry, no racing.

Why are you considering Hunk? It has the least technical gadgets. Dated instrument panels, only 14.4 bhp engine. I don't like its headlight, I don't like its name. It has got lots of Fibre parts...bad in case of an accident. But yes, Hunk will return the highest mileage. Hunk also has got the best resale value because its a Hero Honda.

Looks wise, RTR 180 in colour white is my favourite.

It all boils down between P 180 & RTR 180.

RTR is more powerful, more nimble, agile in handling. It has rear disc brakes which the P180 hasn't. Also, goodies like lap-timer, top-speed recorder, etc. And check out any bike magazine. All agree that RTR 180 gives the P200 a run.

If mileage is your priority, I'd suggest RTR 160. Returns 50-55 kmpl.

The new P180 doesn't have a kick start. So in case of a blown fuse (which is very very rare) or when the battery is old & you start the bike in winter at 5:00 AM, you may be screwed.

RTR has front & rear petal discs. Petal discs have more surface area & cool more quickly than normal discs. Yamaha offers petal discs for R15 & FZ in its race-kit package...got the idea?

Both RTR180 & P180 will return 44-49kmpl depending on your riding habits. RTR has more things to offer than Pulsar & if you are going to put the bike in very very harsh conditions, Pulsar 180 will die after around 2 years. RTR can take all punishment happily.

Another thing I'd make very clear is that spares of TVS are expensive than Bajaj, but for me its okay because I know that TVS machines (the engine, chassis, suspension, brakes) are higher quality than Bajaj.

Take a test ride of both Pulsar & Apache RTR & see for yourself. Who's stopping you?

Other bikes I'd suggest are R15 (but its very costly) & Bajaj Avenger 200 dtsi (but its in a different class...its a cruiser).

Its people like Hari that say wrong things on Answers & confuse, misguide the asker. Hari, don't take it personally. Think what you say & please don't answer a question you don't know about.

Among the 4 for all your conditions, different bikes satisfy the criteria.

Apache 180 has best power among the 4, looks are not bad, mileage around 45kmpl. Go for it if you want all end torque and acceleration and power.

P 180 has 17ps power. Mileage also 40-45kmpl. The bike doesn't have anything new to offer. Also stability and comfort not good.

Among the 4 the hunk has the best mileage 50-58kmpl. It offers good comfort especially in long run. Looks are not bad. It is the cheapest of the lot . But hunk sales hasn't clicked in a big way.

Finally the fazer is the best of the lot. It has mid range torque which is the best. 14ps power, 50mileage, offers the best ride comfort and ride stability. The engine and characteristics are same as the popular fz 16. But it is the costliest and doesn;t offer that much value for 82000 on road. ( I own a fz 16 and get 52kmpl mixed )

    So overall, I suggest go for the hunk or if budget is not a constraint, the fazer. If power and top speed is the condition, the apache rtr 180;

None. The Pulsar 220 (new) is the nearest to a good bike in the category you are looking for. Manufacturers have left a big void between the small bikes 100-150 and the big ones 1000cc. I would love to get a 250 cc Ymaha or Honda when it comes to market. Any clue?

if u want a real perfomance bike none matches the rtr 180 i own one and ever since that i have never been overtaken on road by any mug

and now 4 pulsar wthr its 150 180 200 or 220 pls dont use the word perfomance with pulsar as a perfomance bike it really sucks but the bike has got its own goods too a much relaxed riding position more space thn an rtr and more service networks thts so obivous bcoz evry guy on earth has got this mug

and now 4 yamaha 150 fz costs you 80,000 against a 180 rtr for 70,000 dont misunderstand bcoz fz is expensive its a better bike u pay tht much money for the japan make of yamaha y spend tht much money whn we hav our own companies in india making much bttr bikes

pulsar 180 is the costliest of the lot , dont expect a mileage as the body is heavier due tothe heavy forks etc, plus it doesnt have a kick starter etc. Apache rtr is good but the body seems to be small for the price they are charging. you might face road grip probs, i personally favour the hunk becos the price is the lowest apart from that just look at the thickness ofthe swing arm ,i think it is the best f the lot. it has kick starter and chain cover(a feature absent on the p180-new,u will lose the open chain at 25 k otherwiseif u have a chain cover , u will lose only at 45k). U have a proven engine and good service network

pulsar 180 delivers 17 PS at 8500 rpm , apache rtr 180 17.3 PS at 8500 rpm , hunk 150 cc with 14.4 PS n yamaha fazer 153 cc delivers 14 PS at 7500 rpm. of all bikes , only hunk doesnt offers digital speedometers etc. apache rtr is good but the poor rear suspension (even though gas filled) is very tough n hard on you back..hunk is quite heavy compared to the power it delivers.fazer is good but yet to prove its worth on road...so you can go for pulsar 180 with decent mileage anywhere b/w 40-45 kmpl ..also look for pulsar 220dts-i which offers similar mileage but with more power

The Apache 180 is the bike for you...

If you want looks the most, go for the Fazer.

I guess the pulsar will give the best economy here...
